Hasson Trocar | Surgical Tool Used in Laparoscopic Surgeries
2024-06-04
The Hasson Trocar is a surgical instrument used in laparoscopic procedures. Named after Harrith Hasson, MD, it's considered one of the first modern trocars.
The Hasson Trocar is inserted using the open or direct-cut method, which is widely regarded as one of the safest approaches to laparoscopic access. It functions as a portal for other tools like scissors, graspers, and staplers.
This trocar can be used to remove fluid from the abdominal cavity. It typically includes a blunt obturator along with a valve body/cannula assembly. These trocars are inserted into the peritoneal cavity after making a small celiotomy and are used to introduce a laparoscope for surgery.
Surgsci’s Hassonpass in several diameters - 10mm and 12mm, offering strong fixation, excellent sealing, and an atraumatic blunt obturator. For more information please contact us: service@surgsci.com
