What is a Pyeloplasty
Pyeloplasty refers to cutting the expanded renal pelvis wall after the obstruction of the ureteropelvic junction is relieved, and then suturing the cut renal pelvis wall to the cut ureter to restore the continuity of the ureter. The purpose of the operation is to make the shaped ureteropelvic junction at the lowest point of the renal pelvis and fully drain the urine from the renal pelvis. There are two surgical methods: disconnected and non-disconnected, and are mainly used to treat ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
